The Sunfoil Dolphins won the toss and sent the bizhub Highveld Lions in to bat in their Momentum One Day Cup clash at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday morning.

The toss was delayed due to a damp pitch but play eventually got underway at around noon. The game has been reduced to 37 overs per side as a result.

The Lions are at home for the first time in the campaign and will be looking to exhibit the kind of prolific form in front of their home crowd that they have shown on the road thus far. Stephen Cook’s men have won their first three games, and it has been largely thanks to some formidable bowling that has seen them bowl the opposition out on all three occasions.

The Dolphins have endured a frustrating start to the season, with rain washing out their previous match against the Chevrolet Warriors after they’d suffered a narrow defeat to the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras in their opening encounter. Daryn’s Smit’s men will have to stop a rampant Lions team if they are to get their first win on the board.

Both teams have named unchanged sides for today’s match. The weather forecast is for clear and sunny conditions in Johannesburg so the remaining overs should be completed.
