Rain delayed the start of the Momentum One-Day Cup match between the Chevrolet Knights and the bizhub Highveld Lions at the De Beers Diamond Oval in Kimberley on Wednesday.
The bizhub Highveld Lions have already qualified for the play-offs but a win against the Chevrolet Knights in their final group match would assure the Gauteng franchise of a home final.
A loss would not be the end of the world for the bizhub Highveld Lions as they will still host the play-off match even if they should succumb to the Chevrolet Knights.
The Chevrolet Knights’ hopes of making the play-offs are hanging by a thread. They are currently in fifth position on the log with one match to play but with only the top three teams qualifying for the play-offs they need to beat the bizhub Highveld Lions and hope that the Nashua Titans lose to the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras and the Sunfoil Dolphins lose to the Chevrolet Warriors in the rest of the day’s fixtures.
