Hanno Kotze scored an unbeaten 67 off 65 balls to lead Boland to a definite, ten-wicket thrashing over Easterns in the first round of T20 matches during day three of the 2012 Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Under-19 Week in Potchefstroom on Tuesday.

Having batted first, Easterns posted 104/6 with Jurie Snyman scoring 43 while Oliver Nel and Curtley Louw took three wickets each. Kotze, along with opening partner, Bjorn Fortuin (31) batted the innings through to give their team a satisfying victory.

In the match between Western Province (WP) and South Western Districts (SWD), the former managed a narrow, two-run win over their opposition. WP batted first, scoring 154/6. Hayes van der Berg scored a notable 71 from 50 balls to give his side a competitive score.

SWD's reply was slow, they lost wickets at regular intervals with Lornell Spies top scoring on 49 runs when they ran out of overs.

Eastern Province beat Limpopo by 34 runs when they met in the day's first T20 match. They batted first, giving Limpopo a target of 154 to win thanks to Shaun Osborne's unbeaten 58 runs. In reply, Tian Koekemoer's untouched 65 from 61 balls could not help his side's slow scoring rate.

In other matches; Gauteng beat North West by 14 runs, while in a twist, Mpumalanga emerged victorious in their meet against Northerns, beating them by a memorable seven wickets. Free State suffered an 11-run loss to KwaZulu-Natal while Border lashed Griquas by nine wickets. Namibia celebrated an outstanding, nine-wicket triumph over KwaZulu-Natal Inland.
