PITE VAN BILJON of Free State will captain the South African Invitation XI to play the touring New Zealand Black Caps in a three-day practice match at Boland Park, Paarl, from Friday until Sunday.
The match will not have first-class status as both teams will have a squad of 12 players although only 11 can be in the field at any stage.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) could not consider the majority of franchise players because of the current round of Sunfoil Series matches and the same applies to Border and South Western Districts who are involved in a CSA provincial competition match.
