Cricket South Africa (CSA) welcomed back to school with a handover at the Polokegong Primary School in Vosloorus this morning.
The learners were in for a surprise as CSA donated school bags and stationery to a thousand young learners.
Also in attendance was CSA and Proteas Mascot, ZAC, who was an instant hit.
The school has a special place in the heart of Nashua Titans player, Tumelo Bodibe. He attended this school 13 years ago and was part of the handover ceremony this morning.
“I’m so proud to be here this morning,” said Bodibe.
“This is where it all began for me and I hope I can inspire these learners to achieve their dreams.”
CSA Acting CEO, Jacques Faul was also excited by this initiative.
“Education is an important part of any child’s life, and hopefully our small contribution to the learners today, will play a part in the development at school,” explained Faul.
“We also hope that they will be able to balance a healthy and sporting lifestyle with education and become good all round students and youth as they grow up.”
Polokegong Primary School also received two full sets of cricket kit and equipment kindly donated by Sedgars Sport worth R10 000.
