Shaquana Quintyne and Stefanie Taylor took four wickets each to bring the West Indies back into their five-match One Day International (ODI) series against South Africa in Dominica on Saturday. They lost the first two matches and have temporarily evaded what would have been an embarrassing series defeat at the hands of their visitors.
The hosts won the toss and chose to field first. South Africa looked out of sorts, losing wickets at regular intervals as they were restricted to 120 in 47.1 overs. Team captain, Mignon du Preez was the leading run-scorer with 20 runs, as Quintyne and Taylor took 4/14 and 4/22 respectively.
In the West Indies' reply, Taylor added 71 runs to round off her remarkable bowling performance, setting a solid foundation for her side to successfully chase down the score for the loss of just two wickets. The Windies reached their target in 29.2 overs to unequivocally take the third match.
The teams square off in the fourth ODI on Sunday. South Africa will look to win the series, while the hosts have everything to play for as they aim to level the it.
The match starts at 15:30 South African time at Windsor Park at Roseau.
