Momentum Proteas women's coach, Hilton Moreeng says his side is still riding the high of the 126-run victory over Pakistan that saw them enter the Super Sixes stage of the ICC Women's World Cup 2013 in India. The side will face the West Indies in their first match on Friday.

"The win against Pakistan is definitely what we needed from a confidence point of view," Moreeng said. "The mood is very good, we're very confident going into the next round."

This will be the first time that South Africa and the West Indies meet since their tour in January that ended in a two-all draw in the ODI series. They will be playing in South Africa's adopted home ground, the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.

SA captain, Mignon du Preez believes that they will have a slight edge over the visitors, who will see and play at the ground for the first time tomorrow.

"We have at least played there once and had a practice session and they have not been able to see the pitch and will not know much about how it plays because none of our group matches were televised," she said.

Du Preez is under no illusions about the challenge that the Windies will present, however.

"They are an extremely tough side to face and because we come from playing them recently, we both know more or less what to expect from the other. The key will be who will execute their lessons learnt better than the other," she concluded.

South Africa will have to win all of their matches in the Super Sixes to get a chance of playing in the final. Moreeng believes that this is an achievable goal.

"The team has shown real growth since our arrival here and they have taken all their lessons on board and are playing better with each game as it comes. I believe that it is possible for us to win all three of the matches in this round, we just need to take each game as it comes," he concluded.
