The opening fixture of this season’s RAM SLAM T20 Challenge, between the Sunfoil Dolphins and the Nashua Titans, was abandoned without a ball being bowled because of persistent rain at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead on Friday.

Rain began falling two hours before the scheduled 18h15 start and never let up resulting in umpires Brian Jerling and Karl Hurter having no option but to call the match off at 19h45.

Both teams picked up two points for the no-result.

The Sunfoil Dolphins’ next match is against the bizhub Highveld Lions at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead on February 22 while the Nashua Titans take on the self-same bizhub Highveld Lions at Bidvest Wanderers on February 20.
