Titans win toss, field in PE

The Nashua Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first against the Chevrolet Warriors in their RAM SLAM T20 Challenge clash at Axxess St George’s in Port Elizabeth on Friday.

The hosts won their opening match against the Chevrolet Warriors a week ago, while the visitors were beaten in their only completed game – a seven wicket loss to the bizhub Highveld Lions on Wednesday.

Their other match was a washout versus the Sunfoil Dolphins in Durban last week and the men from Pretoria will be desperate to get a first victory under their belts.

They had some positive news on the team from with the availability of Alfonso Thomas, who has joined them for the competition.

The veteran seam bowler walks straight into the starting XI ahead of Ethy Mbhalati.

The Warriors have stuck with the same team that won their opening game in Kimberley.

Chevrolet Warriors: Christiaan Jonker, Ashwell Prince, Davey Jacobs (capt), Colin Ingram, Adrian McLaren (wkt), Wayne Parnell, Craig Thyssen, Simon Harmer, Rusty Theron, Andrew Birch, Ayabulela Gqamane.

Nashua Titans: Henry Davids (capt), Jacques Rudolph, Mangaliso Mosehle (wk), Martin van Jaarsveld, Farhaan Behardien, Albie Morkel, David Wiese, Roelof van der Merwe, Eden Links, Marchant de Lange, Alfonso Thomas.
