Burton de Wett scored an impressive 201 off 216 balls to propel Border to a 119-run victory over Namibia in Windhoek in the latest round of the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Domestic First-Class Three-Day competition in Windhoek.
Raymond van Schoor scored an unbeaten 81 runs while Christi Viljoen contributed 55 to give the hosts a first innings total of 182 after they had elected to bat first. Lucky Lwana was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4/24 in the innings and 7/54 in the match.
Border scored 428/6 in their only innings. Somila Seyibokwe missed out on a well deserved century when he was caught by Nicolaas Scholtz on 98 off 140 balls, while Gionne Koopman added a handy 47.
In their second innings, Namibia's No. 9 batsman, Louis Klazinga, top-scored with 32 not out as his side slumped to 127 all out at the hands of Lwana and Lundi Mbana who took three wickets each.
In Cape Town, Western Province (WP) took on Griqualand West (Griquas), beating them by 92 runs. WP were restricted to 174 all out thanks to Aubrey Swanepoel's 5/48 and Werne Coetzee's 3/54 after they chose to bat first.
Griquas' reply was stifled by George Linde, who took a remarkable six wickets for 41 runs to have them bundled out for 112. WP's second innings saw Matthew Kleinveldt score 84 to help his side to 196 despite Griffin Nieuwoudt's 5/35.
Kleinveldt completed a fine all-round mamtch with three wickets to bowl Griquas out for 166 to complete the win.
In Potchefstroom, Rassie van der Dussen scored 128 to lead North West to a 69-run victory over Boland while the South Western Districts (SWD) drew their match against Northerns.
Free State top the log with 118.36 points while Gauteng are at a very close second with 117.26 points.
This week will see Boland hosting Northerns while Eastern Province will take on Easterns. Border will go up against Griquas while SWD will face off against Free State.
