Johan van der Wath, captain of the Chevrolet Knights, won the toss and elected to field first against the visiting Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras in the RAM SLAM T20 Challenge match at Chevrolet Park in Bloemfontein on Friday.

The Chevrolet Knights are clear favourites for this encounter with the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras currently experiencing a run of five consecutive defeats. The hosts are currently third on the RAM SLAM T20 Challenge log with 17 points, just one point behind the Nashua Titans.

A victory for the men from Bloemfontein today could put them within striking distance of the table-topping bizhub Highveld Lions, depending on results elsewhere. Boosted by the return-to-form of Dean Elgar, and the return of opening batsman, Rilee Rossouw from illness, the hosts will definitely feel that they can snatch the four points for a victory.

The Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras on the other hand, will be a dangerous outfit, considering that they are out of the running for a play-off place, which could just remove the shackles of pressure. The visitors have some big-hitters in their side with Richard Levi, Dane Vilas and Justin Ontong.

Rossouw returns to the side, after missing the Chevrolet Knights' low-scoring six run victory against the Chevrolet Warriors in Port Elizabeth. Elgar used his international experience in top-scoring with 61 not out and claiming four wickets in his four overs, helping the Chevrolet Knights defend 114. Dillon du Preez also makes a return, as Werner Coetsee and Jandre Coetzee miss out.

Fielding has been a huge worry for the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras this season. The visitors have also struggled to maintain early pressure created by left-arm seamer, Beuran Hendricks, who has claimed 10 wickets at an average of 16.3 this season. Although wicketkeeper, Dane Vilas has scored 357 runs at an average of 71.40, he has not found the support needed to lift the team to decent totals.

The Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras have made three changes to the team that lost by 22 runs against the Sunfoil Dolphins in Durban, with Stiaan van Zyl returning to the top of the order at the expense of Yaseen Vallie. Alistair Gray and Francois Plaaitjies replace Azhar Mahmood and Charl Langeveldt.

Chevrolet Knights: Loots Bosman, Rilee Rossouw, Dean Elgar, Gihahn Cloete (wk), Obus Pienaar, Pite van Biljon, Johann van der Wath (capt), Shadley van Schalkwyk, Nicky Boje, Dillon du Preez, Malusi Siboto.

Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras: Richard Levi, Stiaan van Zyl, Dane Vilas (wk), Owais Shah, Justin Ontong (capt), Justin Kemp, Vernon Philander, Alistair Gray, Beuran Hendricks, Dane Piedt, Francois Plaaitjies.
