Pink Day Campaign 2013 – Cheque for R500,000 handed over to PinkDrive

A cheque for R500,000.00 was handed over to Breast Cancer Awareness charity PinkDrive at the 5th and final Momentum One-Day International (ODI) held at Sahara Willowmoore Park  in Benoni on Sunday 24 March 2013. 

 

The Pink Day campaign was a successful partnership between Cricket South Africa (CSA), the Gauteng Cricket Board (GCB), Momentum and Bidvest.

 

Funds raised in the run up and at a Pink Day at the 3rd Momentum ODI held at Bidvest Wanderers brought in close to R420,000.  Momentum decided to follow through on their commitment to the Pink Day campaign and round the number significantly upwards with a final donation of R80,000, bringing their final contribution to R337,500 towards the final cheque of R500,000.

 

The cheque was handed over to Roy Nattrass, director of PinkDrive, by Naasei Appiah, Acting CEO of CSA, Danie van den Bergh, head of Brand at Momentum, and Cassim Docrat, CEO Gauteng Cricket. 

 

A big thank you goes out to all fans and supporters who contributed at the Pink Day or donated via the PinkDrive sms number.  R20 donations can still be made by sms-ing PinkDrive to 40158.
