Kenya continued their excellent start to the quadrangular T20 competition when they beat the South Africa Emerging Squad by five wickets with two balls to spare on Sunday.
This followed their seven-wicket victory over the Netherlands with plenty of overs in hand on Saturday.
The South African team looked to be in a strong position after they made 174/6 in their 20 overs thanks to the contributions of Yaseen Vallie (61 off 46 balls with four fours and two sixes) and David Wiese (62 not out off 26 balls with two fours and six sixes). The pair shared a partnership of 50 in just 4.1 overs.
But Kenya batted effectively in their reply to chase down the total with two balls to spare. Rakep Patel finished off superbly by scoring 37 not out off 18 balls with three fours and three sixes. They scored the last 67 runs needed for victory in six overs.
Andrew Birch was the only South African bowler to keep the Kenyan batsmen in check, taking 2/22 in 3.4 overs.
