As the 2013 Momentum National Club Championship creeps closer to its end, only the Mecer Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) Madibaz and Assupol TUKS remain unbeaten and on top of their respective logs in Section One and Section Two.

The Madibaz further cemented their position after beating St Patrick's College Cricket Club (CC) by six wickets in Irene on Thursday. Skipper, Corbin Dolley took a Man of the Match winning, three for 18 to restrict the men from Griquas to 118.

In reply, Peter Furstenburg and Lee-Roy Walters lead the chase, returning unbeaten for 36 and 32 respectively to claim the winning runs.

At the TUT Oval, TUKS came out tops against the Steinhoff Maties, executing a four-wicket victory in the most anticipated heavyweight match of the day.

Ernest Kemm and Graeme van Buuren took three wickets each to restrict Maties to 206/9 at the end of their 50 overs after the latter won the toss and chose to bat first. Emile Kriek scored a half century while Uwe Birkenstock and Mark van Heerden provided good support, adding 48 and 43 respectively to land the defendable total.

TUKS' Francois Le Clus and van Buuren made 68 and 63* in a thrilling chase to reach their target.

At the TUKS Oval, Rassie van der Dussen returned unbeaten for 108 when ABSA NWU-PUKKE met Good Hope CC, beating them by nine wickets.  Good Hope won the toss and batted first, posting 215/7 at the end of their innings. Luyanda Mpande top scored with 42 while Lucky Phangabantu, Vuyisa Makhapela and Cebo Tsiki chipped in with 34*, 31 and 30 respectively.

Wimpie Viljoen contributed a vital 68 runs to van der Dussen's century to help their side home.

Kovsies KK recorded their second win the competition when they beat Benoni Northerns, who played a much better game today.  Kovsies were bowled out for 195 after they were asked to bat by Benoni, Lenert van Wyk scored 57 while Leonard Killeen fell a run short of his half century. Nicholas Govender from Benoni  took a noteworthy 4/37 and teammate returned with 2/22 in five overs.

Benoni's batting effort was a big step up from yesterday's 46 all out. JP Kok and Ryan Pfeifer scored 59 and 42 to give their side a fighting chance, but it was the impressive bowling of Corné Dry, who took his second four wicket haul in two days, that saw the batsmen fall short. They were dismissed for  183 to give Kovsies a 12-run victory.

In Section Two, it was Cellect Cellular Western Province CC's turn to return the lowest total of the day when they faced the Gunn & Moore Old Edwardians (Old Eds) at Memorial Park. They were bundled out for 54 in 26 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bat. Etienne Gerber, David Sartor and Shaylen Pillay took three wickets each to round off a brilliant bowling effort.

Devon Conway was once again the leading run scorer for Old Eds with 30 not out, making quick work of the chase with Matthew Rosen on 22*to win with 38.5 overs to spare.

In the last match of the day, the HollywoodBets.Net Crusaders beat Union Stars by eight wickets. Riaan Minnie scored an unbeaten 53 to help the Crusaders successfully chase down Union Stars' 114.
