Proteas bat first in opening Test

The Castle Lager Proteas have won the toss and elected to bat in the first Test against Pakistan at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

 

Morne Morkel is playing in his 50th Test for South Africa, becoming only the 18th South African to pass this milestone.

 

South Africa XI: Graeme Smith (cpt), Alviro Petersen, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers (wk), JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis, Robin Peterson, Vernon Philander, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel.
