Proteas unveil ground-breaking sports medicine hospital

The Castle Lager Proteas and Pakistan cricketers attended the launch of a ground-breaking sports medicine hospital in Dubai on Saturday. The Burjeel Hospital for advanced surgery was officially opened by the players at a ceremony in the hub of the UAE. 

The facility, the first of its kind in Dubai, will specialise in orthopaedic surgery and will offer the sports medicine community state-of-the-art services from some of the best specialists in the world.

Speaking at the event, JP Duminy said: " As sportsmen, sports medicine plays an important role in our careers. Its great to see such facilities becoming more prominent around the world and also reassuring to know that we can receive the best treatment while touring the UAE." 

Proteas team manager, Dr Mohammed Moosajee praised the impressive facility. " This hospital will house some of the best specialists in the world, its an impressive operation," he said. " Its encouraging to see the growth of sports medicine around the world, I know in South Africa we have similar facilities in Johannesburg and Pretoria."
