Scenic Sahara Park Newlands will be host to the Momentum One-Day Domestic Cup final on Friday, 15 November, when the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras face-off against either The Unlimited Titans or the Sunfoil Dolphins, who play today in the eliminator in Durban.

Tickets sales are now open and as we know, our finals are always sold out, so the FANgS must get their tickets EARLY!! They will be happy to hear that the ticket prices for the final at Sahara Park Newlands will remain unchanged.

CEO Prof Andre Odendaal said: “This is just a way of thanking every supporter for their support thus far and encouraging everyone to come out by the busload to support our team”. Odendaal added:  “If the Cobras win it will be their sixth trophy in the last ten domestic competitions. Playing in front of a packed Newlands Cricket Ground is a big advantage for the team, so please come in numbers, Capetonians”.

The Cobras have been in good form throughout the Momentum One-Day Domestic Cup, finishing on top of the log after having lost only two out of ten matches in the league stages. The Cobras will head into the match revitalised and focussed a week of preparations.

Cobras’ batsman, Stiaan van Zyl, has been in good form lately and hopes to carry his form over into the final at Sahara Park Newlands. Another player who has been in great form is Charl Langeveldt. Sadly he sustained an injury at Kingsmead when the Cobras took on the Dolphins but we are still hoping he will feature in Friday’s final. With Langeveldt being a doubtful option, the pressure will be on bowlers such as in-form Justin Kemp, Lizaad Williams, Siya Simetu and Dane Piedt who have all had good spells recently. The final team will be released later this week.

Come join in the great vibe, get you pic taken with Coby the team mascot, play with the kids in the inflatable Cobras net, or go relax to the gentle sounds of Faz4 (a jazz band) in the food court behind the North Stand while visiting the Newlands Shop (North Stand) to buy memorabilia and fan shirts.
