THE Sunfoil Dolphins’ bid to finish in the top three of the Sunfoil Series table and earn a share of the cash prizes on offer continued to be hampered by the weather as day one of their clash against the bizhub Highveld Lions at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead was washed out.

The Dolphins’ last match against The Unlimited Titans at Sahara Willowmoore Park was abandoned without a ball being bowled, and on Thursday they endured another day without cricket due to the weather.

The absence of play was also a setback for the Lions, who are currently in fifth place on the table but trail the third-placed Dolphins by less than three points.

The franchise that finishes third in the standings at the end of the season will earn R200 000.
