Sarah Coyte, Ellyse Perry make gains in T20I bowling ranking

Australia’s bowling pair of Sarah Coyte and Ellyse Perry have moved up inside the top ten of the latest Reliance ICC Women's Player Rankings for T20I Bowlers.

 

The latest rankings update was released on Monday, a day after Australia beat England by six wickets to win the tournament for the third time in a row.

 

Coyte, named player of the final for her spell of three for 16, has moved up six places to fourth. Coyte finished with nine wickets, third-highest in the tournament at an average of 11.22 and an economy rate of 4.80 runs per over.

 

Perry, on the other hand, rose four places to eighth, to return to the top ten for the first time since August 2013. A new-ball bowler, Perry, ended with eight wickets in the tournament at an average of 12.87 and an economy rate of 5.15 runs per over.

 

Also moving up inside the top 10 is West Indies’ Anisa Mohammed, now at sixth place (up by two), a position she shares with South Africa bowler Marizanne Kapp (down by one).

 

Meanwhile, Bangladesh captain Salma Khatun has risen two places to the number-one position on the bowlers' table for the first-time ever.

 

Khatun picked up eight wickets, fourth-highest, at an average of 8.75 and an economy of 3.58 runs per over. Khatun moved ahead of Sri Lanka’s Udeshika Prabhodhani into the top place. Khatun is now at a best-ever 650 ratings points, just one ahead of the Sri Lanka bowler.

 

Australia, Sri Lanka and West Indies have two bowlers inside the top 10, while Bangladesh, England, South Africa and New Zealand have one bowler each in the top 10.

 

Meanwhile, England’s Anya Shrubsole, moved up two places to 13th. Shrubsole was named player of the tournament for ending as the highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 13 scalps at an average of 7.53 and an economy rate of 4.08 runs per over.

 

Also moving up in the bowling table is Ireland's Isobel Joyce, who is now at 15th (up by four).

Australia’s Jess Jonassen has jumped 11 places to a best-ever 18th, to make it to the top 20 for the first-time ever.

 

Australia captain Meg Lanning has consolidated her position at the top of the Reliance ICC Women's Rankings for T20I Batters, in an otherwise unchanged top ten list.

 

Lanning finished as the highest run-getter in the tournament with 257 runs at an average of 42.83 and a strike rate of 158.64.

 

England captain Charlotte Edwards continues to be in second place, with teammate Sarah Taylor closely following her in third position. Edwards, on 666 ratings points, now leads Taylor by just four ratings points.

 

Outside the top 10, South Africa captain Mignon du Preez is now in 11th   place (up by one) and Pakistan’s Bismah Maroof has moved up four places to a career-best 12th.

 

Meanwhile, Australia’s Alyssa Healy made a return to the top 20 as she moved up three places to 18th.
