PROTEAS WOMEN SET FOR BLOCKBUSTER 2026/27 HOME SUMMER AGAINST INDIA AND AUSTRALIA

JOHANNESBURG: Cricket South Africa (CSA) has today announced the Proteas Women’s home international fixtures for the 2026/27 season, headlined by Australia’s historic maiden tour to South Africa, alongside India’s visit, with both tours set to feature a Test match.

The Proteas will face India in a three-match ICC Women’s Championship (IWC) ODI series from 09 – 15 December, with the JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom hosting the series opener before Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein and the World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Ground stage the second and third matches.

The tour will also include a one-off Test match at Dafabet St George’s Park in Gqeberha from 20 – 23 December. It will be the fourth red-ball contest between the two nations and only the second women’s Test match in the Friendly City since South Africa hosted England there in December 1960.

In the new year, the Proteas Women will welcome Australia for a multi-format tour which will include both white-ball formats and a solitary Test match from 18 March – 11 April 2027.

The Aussies’ visit will begin with a three-match T20 International (T20I) series from 18 – 23 March in Kimberley, Benoni and KuGompo City. The two sides will then battle for points in the IWC ODI series, starting in Gqeberha on 27 March before moving to Paarl on 31 March.

The series will conclude at the Hollywoodbets Dolphins Stadium in Durban on 03 April, where the third fixture will be the Black Day ODI, continuing to highlight the ongoing fight against gender-based violence (GBV).

The tour will culminate with the Test match at the JB Marks Oval in the North West province from 08 – 11 April. The four-day clash will be the second time the Proteas Women and Australia face off in Test whites, following their meeting in Perth in February 2024.

CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki commented:

“We are delighted to host two of the world’s leading teams in India and Australia for what promises to be a blockbuster home summer for the Proteas Women. These tours will showcase the very best of international women’s cricket and build on the encouraging rise in fan attendance, as we continue to welcome growing crowds across the country to watch world-class players competing at some of our iconic venues.”

“It is also exciting to host two Test matches on home soil during the season. Test cricket remains a special and historic format of the game, and providing our Proteas Women with opportunities to compete in red-ball cricket at home is an important step in the continued recognition of the women’s game in South Africa.

“We are also pleased to see the annual Black Day ODI continue to grow, with the sixth edition taking place at the Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium. The match remains an important platform to raise awareness in the fight against GBV.”
